OPPENHEIM NOW IN HOLE

Two rounds in at the final stage of the PGA’s Qualifying School and Andover’s @text5:Rob Oppenheim officially has his work cut out for him.

Oppenheim tossed up his second straight 1-over par round of 73 and currently sits at in a tie for 142nd place.

Of course, the top 25 finishers gain PGA Tour cards for 2013.

The good news is that Oppenheim has 72 holes left to close the gap, which is currently 9 shots to the fellas tied for 24th.

The bad news is that there have just been too many bogeys early. Yesterday’s round featured four birdies, but the five bogeys were just too many.

Action continues on the Nicklaus courses in Palm Springs, Calif., today.

Lowell is off to a 4-1 start, including a huge win over 23rd-ranked Stonehill this week. Merrimack has dropped five in a row after a 2-0 start.
