Figuereo shines again

LOWELL — Highlighted by stellar performances from three student-athletes, including another dominant day by sophomore sprinter Noelia Figuereo of Haverhill, the Merrimack women’s track & field team enjoyed a solid outing at the George Davis Invitational yesterday at UMass Lowell.

No team score was kept at the daylong event. Merrimack will return to action next Saturday at the Brown Invitational.

Figuereo earned individual wins in the 100 and 200 dashes, respectively, for the second consecutive week. The Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year won the 100 with a time of 12.39 seconds before doing likewise in the 200 with a time in the finals of 25.90.

Junior Briana Deveraux of Londonderry took sixth in the 3000 with a time of 10:34.52.
