Hector Payano won the long jump (20-5.5), triple jump (40-6), 200 (23.02) and 100 (11.35) to lead Greater Lawrence boys track 83-64 over Whittier.

Jeremy Kimball ran the 400 meter hurdles in a Whittier school record time of 1:05.46.

Whittier’s Corinne Bilodeau, Taysha Diaz, Jarlyn Gomez and Angelina Martinez set the school record in the 4x400 by running a 4:57.16 in a 94-51 victory over Greater Lawrence in girls track.

Fine debut

In his first career start, Sean Wrenn gave up one run on four hits and struck out seven as Haverhill held on for a 4-3 win over Triton. The senior also drove in two runs to lead the Hillies to their first win of the year.

Whitter plays longball

Jaylin Deveau blasted a three-run homer over the fence in left field in the first, and Ralph Francesconi knocked a solo homer out to center in the third to lead Whittier to a 7-1 drubbing of Northeast.

Methuen wins tight one

Ashley Horan scored five goals, added two draw controls and caused a turnover to lead Methuen 15-13 over Cambridge Rindge & Latin in girls lacrosse.

3s are wild

Destiny Jordan went 3 for 3, scored three runs and drove in three runs as Whittier softball tripped Minuteman 15-2. Cassey Glode and Josie Sanchez also drove in three runs.

Savary’s sweet saves

Deanna Savary’s remarkable 13 save effort helped lift Central Catholic girls lacrosse 7-3 over Billerica.

Career performance

Matt Gray had a career-high 18 saves for Timberlane boys lacrosse but the Owls lost 15-5 to Winnacunnet.
