After his "for the ages" performance in the NBA finals, how could Pierce be left off the Olympic team? No one is hotter right now, and Pierce has grown into a leader in his old age. Plus, he would certainly offer more than an aging Jason Kidd, with youngsters Chris Paul and Deron Williams already running the point, and overrated "defensive stopper" Tayshaun Prince.

I can't believe I'm saying this but "Thank you Coach K!" The omission of Paul Pierce from the Olympic roster by coach Mike Krzyzewski is music to Celtic fans' ears. Pierce or Kevin Garnett wouldn't make the difference between gold and silver. Who needs the hassle of travel to China, the extra wear and tear? Leave that to LeBron and Kobe. Softening them up will only have pave the road to "Green 18."
