LAWRENCE — The Souhegan Valley (N.H.) Sabers scored first but the Mill City Junior Maulers reeled off 38 straight points for a 38-8 victory in the Northeast Junior High School Football League championship game.
Chris St. Onge of Kingston, N.H., threw a touchdown pass, intercepted a pass, rushed for over 100 yards and scored three times.
"They didn't know our quarterback was that good," said coach Eric Glew. "We haven't had to run Chris all year, but we made sure we countered everything they tried to take away from us with Chris. He's a heck of a player."
The Sabers were determined to take away Christian Rivera (25 rushing TDs), but St. Onge made them pay.
Marcus Ortiz and Victor Martinez anchored the winning defense as the Maulers wrapped up a memorable 11-0 campaign.
