Englehardt named to NAIA pre-season All-American team

BOSTON — Senior third baseman Tom Englehardt of Haverhill has been recognized as a member of the NAIA Pre-Season All-American Baseball team. Englehardt is the first student-athlete to receive such honors for Fisher College.

Englehardt has been the key offensive force in the Fisher College lineup since his freshman year in 2006. He is one reason for the success of the program during his tenure as the Falcons have a combined record of 101-55 from 2006 to 2008. During this time, the team has been ranked in the top 25 and has won three conference and regional championships.

"Tom is a great person and a great player," said Fisher coach Scott Dulin. "He has worked hard to become a well-rounded player and is our leader. He deserves this honor and I look forward to another great year with him."

Over the past three seasons, Englehardt has hit .369, .459 and .469 with 34, 43 and 43 RBIs respectively. He is currently the Fisher College career leader in home runs, runs batted in and doubles and is number two in triples and hits, trailing only 2008 graduate Anthony Perry of North Andover, who is playing professionally for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League.
