Local celebrities flocking to Feaster 5 race

ANDOVER — Among the expected 8,000 runners at Feaster Five road race on Thanksgiving will be more than a few celebrities.

Four-time Boston Marathon winner Bill Rodgers, 1976 winner Jack Fultz, the legendary father and son marathon team Rick and Dick Hoyt, Channel 4 sports reporter Dan Roche of Andover, Channel 4 meteorologist Barry Burbank of North Andover, Channel 7 news reporter Steve Cooper of North Andover, WEEI host Gerry Callahan of Andover and Boston Athletic Association president Tom Grilk will be running in the 21st annual race.

Rodgers and Dick Hoyt will be hosting a book signing at the Days Hotel and Conference Center, 159 Pelham Street in Methuen during race number registration and pick-up on Nov. 25 from 5:30-7 p.m.

Rodgers will sign "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Running" which features quick and easy ways to begin a program to make running and jogging part of your life

Hoyt will sign "It's Only A Mountain" an inspirational account of the accomplishments of this father/son team who defied the odds to run and inspire others.

To run or walk at the race register on-line at feasterfive.com. The race begins with a shot-gun start at 8:30 a.m. on Main Street in Andover at the corner of Route 133 and Rout 28 and ends at Brickstone Square. The cost is $25 if you register before November 22, $30 after that.
