Seasoned Owls win all but two matches

PLAISTOW, N.H. — Even the relatively close decisions went to Timberlane last night in their nonleague battle with Greater Lawrence.

Owl freshman Josh Burnham pulled away late for an 8-0 major decision at 125 and junior Andrew Tanner scored the final five points for a 9-4 decision over Gabriel Castro at 140. Also, heavyweight Matt Wright recorded a late pin over Luis Veras after leading by just one point in the third period.

Despite resting Lowell Holiday placers Dylan Lockard and Ben Tammany, the Owls won 12 of 14 matches while improving to 13-1, their only loss coming to nationally No. 1-ranked Blair Academy.

Greater Lawrence got pins from returning New England finalist Matt Buco at 119 and Angel Rivera at 189. Rivera was engaged in a 0-0 struggle in the second period with Tyler Paolini before using a vicious throw that resulted in a sudden pin.
