Red Sox Top Star: Leadoff hitter Jacoby Ellsbury was 4 for 5 with a run and RBI.

Peavy Struggles: Red Sox starter Jake Peavy surrendered seven runs, all earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out one in 3-plus innings.

Pedroia’s Play: The Tigers were able to score five runs in the second inning and four came after Dustin Pedroia bobbled a double-play ball right to him.
