Torres, Paulino power Lawrence

Hoops for Hope

Luis Torres and Johnathan Paulino each tallied 17 points as Lawrence held off MVC rival Andover 61-53 in Hoops for Hope Bradner Tournament Summer League action. The Golden Warriors were led by David Giribaldi’s 16 points.

Baseball

Jake Shepley drove home two runs and scored another in the first inning as Salem Senior Babe Ruth jumped out to a four-run lead on the way to beating Londonderry 7-3. John Cerretani and Kyle Nagri led the way with two hits and an RBI each and Andrew Calandra scored one run and drove home another for the winners. Noah Tavano led Londonderry with two hits.

Dom Palermo struck out nine over six innings as Salem Junior Legion Post 63 beat Derry Post 9 7-1. Nick Abraham and Nick Shumski each added two hits for the winners.
