Spinners, Fisher Cats both drop games on road

---- — Jose Colorado stroked two hits in the nine hole of the batting order but the Lowell Spinners lost 2-1 to Williamsport yesterday,

Manuel Margot was 1 for 3 with a walk and Kevin Mager was 1 for 5 and drove in Margot for the Spinners’ lone run.

Carlos Pinales threw 3.0 hitless and scoreless innings of relief and struck out three for Lowell, which dropped to 18-14.

Mario Alcantara (2-2, 3.38) pitches today as the Spinners complete their road series against Williamsport at 7:05 p.m.

Fisher Cats routed

Brian Van Kirk stroked two hits and Tommy Manzella doubled in two runs for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, but Trenton earned a split of the four-game series with an 8-2 win yesterday.

New Hampshire starter Marcus Walden (6-10) pitched 5.0 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out a career-high seven.

The Fisher Cats (51-48) start a seven-game homestand against Harrisburg and Altoona today at 7:05 p.m. New Hampshire RHP Ryan Tepera (8-6, 3.91) opposes Senators RHP Taylor Hill (2-3, 1.64).
