First in 10 years
North Andover girls lacrosse knocked off Andover for the first time in 10 years, according to Knights coach Karen Lahey. In the 7-4 win, freshman Lauren Hiller stopped six shots in her varsity debut. Leah Chittick scored three goals. Michaela Mello and Kaleigh Rogato led an inspired defense. Abby Karalis, Erin Kelley and Pam Coufos turned in strong midfield play.
Nick Pino tallied four goals with two assists as North Andover lacrosse blitzed Andover 8-3. Tom Stabile added two goals and starred on faceoffs and Cosmo Capobianco stopped 10 Warrior shots.
Abby Galloway-Burke erupted for eight goals and Ashley Horan added four as Methuen earned a wild 19-18 win over Lowell.
Alex Parent netted five goals and Thomas Jenoski and Zach Coffey combined for 23 ground balls as Central Catholic buried Dracut 17-7.
Kristy Robertson pumped in eight more goals and the Martel sisters, Brooke and Jaime, anchored the defense as Haverhill rallied to beat Tewksbury 14-10.
The last match of the day was third singles and Lincoln-Sudbury pulled that out in a third-set tiebreaker 12-10 to beat Andover 3-2. The match lasted a whopping three hours.
Talented underclassmen Kathleen LeFebre and Kelly Blackwell both homered and senior captain Chrissy Scionti went the distance (6 innings) as Methuen won its opener 7-1 over Marblehead. Scionti threw a two-hitter and fanned nine.

Paige Alholm stroked a two-out double in the top of the eighth and Haley Kosheff doubled her home to give North Andover a 9-8 win over Pentucket.
