Northern Essex baseball arrives at World Series

---- — TYLER, Tex. -- We will be following the exploits of the Northern Essex Community College baseball team at the National Junior College Athletic Association Div. 3 World Series.

NECC, which enters the NJCAA World Series at 16-14, had to overcome a 9-0 deficit through four innings in the New England regionals, and then buried Mount Holyoke Community College 17-2 in the championship game.

NECC opens on Satuday night at 7 p.m. against Nassau Community College in Long Island, N.Y. If NECC wins, it will be at 7 p.m. on Sunday. If it loses, it will play noon in the double-elimination tournament.

The eight team tournament is slated to last a week, with the championship game on Thursday.
