---- — Todd Patnaude finished his high school soccer career with a bang.

The All-Merrimack Valley Conference defender helped lead the North Andover High soccer team to a perfect regular season and the Knights advanced to the Division 2 North finals before being eliminated.

“Todd was always willing to do what was best for the team,” said coach Kyle Wood. “His play made everyone around him better. There were times he carried the team on his shoulders.”

The on-field excellence is only part of the story.

Wood added, “You can’t find a better person than Todd. He is respectful, responsible and someone you want to be around. Just like on the playing field, he makes everyone around him better.”

In this week’s Around the Horn, Patnaude spoke of the Knights’ memorable season, having a towering twin and overcoming injuries.

What was this season like? “It was a lot of fun as it should have been with that record. Playing with the same group of people for so long (since youth soccer) was great. It was a great run.”
