Santos, Candelario remain unbeaten

DERRY, N.H. -- Lawrence heavyweight prospect Alexis Santos sent out another warning shot to the division, disposing of journeyman Orion Sistrunk with another impressive first-round knockout on a professional boxing card held last night at the Sportszone.

Santos, with his fourth career first-round stoppage, moved to 8-0 with 7 KOs.

"We're extremely happy. It was probably the most accurate he's ever been with his punches," said trainer Sean Farley. "He took this guy out strictly with his punishing shots to the body, and that's what we are looking for."

Earlier on the card, Lawrence's C.J. Candelario improved to 3-0 as a pro. He was forced to go the four-round distance with Springfield's Jose Ortiz but pulled out the majority decision.

"To me, he dominated the fight," said Farley.
