Aryanna Poirier scored a season-high eight goals as Methuen defeated Medford 19-11 in girls lacrosse.
Title game rematch
Jake Slepian’s four blocks, 18 assists and two aces led Salem volleyball 3-1 over Windham in a rematch of last year’s state title game, which Salem also won 3-1.
Tucker Lippold had eight kills, 13 assists and 10 service points for Windham.
Eight is great for Salem
Shari Juranovits scored five goals while teammate Kiley Keenan added two goals and five assists to lead Salem girls lacrosse 18-5 over Manchester Central.

Boucher earns first win
North Reading’s Ryan Boucher picked up his first varsity win in a 3-1 victory over Saugus in boys baseball. Boucher pitched all seven innings, giving up no earned runs and striking out 10.
Kayla Riley shined for Whittier Tech, striking out 11 and allowing two hits. Offensively, she added three hits and a home run for four RBI as Whittier beat Manchester Essex 13-1
Coming through in a pinch
Julie Hamilton had a pinch hit two-run triple to knock in the go-ahead runs in the sixth inning. Londonderry softball won 5-3 over Concord.
Kate Hoadley earned her third win of the season and struck out 16 batters in the process as Timberlane defeated Pinkerton 2-0.
Doing it all
Brianna Rivera got the win in Lawrence’s 11-5 victory over Wilmington. But the big story was her brilliant hitting. The freshman was 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple, four RBI and three runs.
Nine strong innings
Caitlin Catalanotto pitched all nine innings, allowing just two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight as Sanborn softball won 3-2 over Plymouth in extras.
