Final Score

Wild Wildcats

Freshman Xciana Flores belted a three-run homer and drove in five runs as part of Whittier’s 18-1 drubbing of Greater Lawrence. The dinger was the first of her career. Her teammate Dominique Ortiz equalled her production with a home run and five RBIs of her own. Mighty MacGregors

Sophomore Abigail MacGregor won both the 100 and 200 dashes and was on the winning 4x100 relay team and older sister Lauren swept the horizontal jumps as Salem ran past Concord 78-66. Lauren was also runner-up to her sister in the 200.

Terrific Tompkins

Chris Tompkins, who missed the first five games of the season, got his first start of the season and made it count with 18 kills and four blocks to lead Haverhill’s volleyball team (5-2) to a sweep of Central Catholic. Connor Peterson had 38 assists for the Hillies.

Winner’s Circle

Georgetown (1-7) finally got into the win column in boys lacrosse as the Royals whipped Saugus 19-3. Jared Warren had five goals and Mike Gochakowski four.

Lee goes distance

Tyler Lee dazzled Central Catholic with a complete-game five-hitter and North Andover rolled 8-1. Brendan Parisotto (3-4, 2 runs, 2 RBIs) and Joe Kramer (2 RBIs) and Stephen Borzi (2-3, 1 run) led the offense and Matt Iannone and Austin Flinn shined defensively in the outfield.
