A perfect 10!
North Andover locked down the Merrimack Valley Conference Division 1 title, going a perfect 10-0, by toppling Chelmsford, 13-8. The Knights were co-champs a year ago but took sole possession this time around, thanks to three goals and four assists from Leah Chittick. Michelle Poirier also netted three goals, while assisting on a pair.
Georgetown played longball with Kyle Nelson blasting a 3-run bomb in the first and winning pitcher Alex Bornholdt drilling a two-run shot in the second in a 9-2 shellacking of Amesbury.
Lee lifts Knights
With Whittier Tech and two games remaining in the Lawrence Invitational Tournament, North Andover took a huge step toward the state tourney with an 8-1 thumping of Tewksbury. Tyler Lee earned the win, striking out four in a four-hit complete game for the 9-8 Knights.
Jen Nelson fired a four-hitter and struck out five, with one walk, pitching Pentucket past Georgetown, 6-1.

Timberlane junior Kate Hoadley struck out 17 batters but the Owls lost 8-7 to Exeter in nine innings.
