Reggies' Rivera named co-MVP

---- — Cristian Rivera, who rushed for over 2,000 yards this fall, was named the Commonwealth Conference Large co-MVP.

The senior led Greater Lawrence Tech, which was nosed out for the league title but earned a berth in the State Vocational Large School Bowl.

He and teammate Jake Barchard were repeat honorees. Eight Reggies made the CAC Large first team and six Whittier players made it.

In all 31 players made the large team and 20 made the CAC Small squad.

Rivera shared top honors with Shawsheen’s Devonn Pratt.

Haverhill resident Shane Abrams, who wasn’t hired by Greater Lowell until mid-August, was named co-Coach of the Year.
