The Final Score

Trailing 55-50, the Greater Lawrence boys ended the game with a 13-3 run to defeat Chelsea 63-58. Leading scorer Oscar Reynoso scored eight of his 18 points in the fourth quarter. Javier Franjul dominated underneath with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

North Andover sophomore Nicole Stevens won every event and totalled 36.25 in the all-around in an easy gymnastics win over Billerica.

Merrimack College freshman Justin Hussar was named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Co-Rookie of the Week after netting his first career multi-point game, getting a goal and assist in a 4-2 win over Army. Hussar leads Merrimack freshmen with six points this season. Merrimack is idle until Dec. 29-30 when it takes on Princeton and Union in the Sheraton/TD Bank Catamount Cup at the University of Vermont.

A pair of junior newcomers helped lead the way as the Lawrence boys track team clipped Greater Lawrence 48-38. Jose Adames captured the 50 dash in 5.7 and Kery Cajou cleared 5-10 to take first in the high jump. Another junior, Francisco Puello, won the 50 hurdles for the second straight meet for the Lancers. For the Reggies, Hector Payano ran 38.7 for first in the 300.

Haverhill’s Molly Hoopes had 21 rebounds to go along with 13 points for Haverhill in a 37-27 loss to Malden.
