Stroman (5-2) earned the win by tossing a career-best 7.0 innings and giving up just two runs on a pair of solo homers. He struck out eight without walking one. The Fisher Cats won 16-5 over Binghamton.
In his past two starts, Stroman has 21 strikeouts.
The Fisher Cats (42-46) bashed a season-high five home runs.
The teams will wrap up their series in the final game before the All-Star break at 12:05 p.m. this afternoon. New Hampshire lefty Sean Nolin (5-2, 2.61) goes against Binghamton lefty Darin Gorski (2-0, 2.57).
Lowell blanked by Brooklyn
The Spinners managed just five hits and committed three errors in a 3-0 loss to the Brooklyn Cyclones yesterday.
Left-handed pitcher Corey Littrell made his professional debut, throwing 2.0 scoreless innings to start the game. He was a fifth-round pick out of the University of Kentucky.
The two teams meet again tonight with Jamie Callahan (1-1, 6.17) pitching for the Spinners (11-8).
