Central sharp in tourney opener

Julia Gagne netted goals 8-9-10 on the year, which proved to be plenty of offense in Central Catholic’s Division 1 North tourney-opening win over Concord-Carlisle. Nicole Difillipo posted the shutout in goal, stopping 11 shots. ...

Alis Roman had a second-half goal but it wasn’t enough as Methuen fell to Weston, 5-1, in Division 1 North field hockey.
