Ouellet leads St. Anselm to victory

After Merrimack women’s volleyball team battled from two sets down to force a decisive fifth set, Saint Anselm came through with a 15-13 win to take the match.

Game scores were 25-21, 25-22, 16-25, 15-25, 15-13.

Salem’s Melissa Ouellet was a big part of Saint Anselm’s strong finish as her two kills sparked a 6-1 fifth-game run to a 13-11 lead.

Ouellet had nine kills and eight blocks in the victory.

Merrimack was led offensively by Stephanie Sheehan, who recorded her first career 20-20 game as she finished with 20 kills and 20 digs. Senior Jenna Reilly finished her final game at Merrimack with 11 kills and nine blocks while fellow senior Brianna Trabucco tied a season-high with 50 assists and five digs. Shaunda Forcier finished off her night with 12 kills and nine digs while freshman Madison Burke racked up 26 digs in the loss.
