Merrimack softballers win three

---- — Merrimack College’s softball team swept a rare tripleheader at winless St. Michael’s, 2-0, 4-3 and 10-6.

Kelli Jo Deardorf tossed the shutout in the opener, striking out 10 and walking one. Tawny Palmieri’s RBI single plated the only run Deardorf would need.

Lindsey Gibbs blasted a pair of homers, including the two-run game winner to lift the Warriors in game 2.

Salem sophomore Valerie Bauer earned the third game win in relief to improve to 3-2 on the year. Nicole Lopilato had a pair of hits, including a homer in that one. ...

Southern New Hampshire finished the weekend sweep of the Merrimack College baseball team with a 4-2 win yesterday.

Down 4-0, Merrimack put up a pair of runs in the ninth but had the door slammed there to fall to 18-12 on the year, 4-4 in the conference.

Tuesday afternoon, Merrimack hosts Bentley.
