Odds and ends: Jake Damphousse, the 240-pounder who began as a lineman before moving to quarterback out of need, is not playing to focus on baseball. ... Another member of that pitching staff is receiver Aiden Newell. ... Add to the All-Name team a very un-football moniker, sophomore lineman Zach Makepeace.

Coach Kevin Fitzgerald (6th year, 25-27): “The Furey family has been great to us over the years and we are expecting Tyler Furey to step in and really carry the load for us at running back. ... Erik Nelson is a very experienced quarterback and looks good, but Jason Hughes is a very talented sophomore. Shawn Grenier is a three-year starter who we are really counting on for stability on both sides of the line. Kyle DiBurro has had some great reps at defensive end and Zach Downey is coming off a great year in the secondary.”
