Timberlane pieces one together

With his pitching staff depleted and his Timberlane baseball team in an early “must-win,” Jamie Fish and his Owls pieced together a masterpiece with a 7-3 win over Manchester Central. Bradey Bonnell, Aiden Newell, Jason Hughes and Matt Grant combined to hold Central to six hits. Jake Cameron and Pat Mahoney each drove in a pair of runs for the 3-6 Owls.

Overtime bliss

After a Billerica turnover, Andrew Eriksen netted the overtime game-winner, lifting Andover over Billerica, 8-7. The goal was Eriksen’s fifth of the game, 20th on the year.

Over .500!

Pelham’s softball team moved over .500 (3-2) for the first time in at least six years with an 11-3 romp over Prospect Mountain. Hannah Paitchel had two hits, three RBIs and scored twice for the Pythons while winning pitcher Jordan Parece had two hits and two RBIs.

Kate the Great

Freshman Kate Hoadley tossed her third shutout of the season, striking out 12 while scattering five hits, as Timberlane remained unbeaten with a 2-0 win over Manchester Central. Leadoff batter Masha Lange scored a run and had an RBI.

Dynamite dozen

Kristy Robertson netted a career-high 12 goals and pitched in four assists, lifting Haverhill over Dracut in girls lacrosse, 21-12. Robertson now has 141 career goals for the Hillies.

Lots of Leslie

Central Catholic improved to 7-1 as Leslie Moore had a home run, two hits and four RBIs in a 6-5 win over Billerica. Ally Cavanaugh had a game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh.

Jaguars win pair

Windham’s softball team won a rare doubleheader, nipping Milford 1-0 on a Holly Psareas RBI double and dousing Plymouth 10-2. Psareas, Cailyn Costa, Michaela Hatem and Olivia Estes all had two hits in the second game for the Jaguars (6-2).

Dynamic Dominique

Dominique Ortiz had a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth as Whittier powered past North Shore 11-7. Cassey Glode had three hits and three RBIs as the Wildcats improved to 6-1.
