Jorge Martinez stepped up with the bases loaded and blasted a grand slam over the right field wall to send Whittier on its way to a 7-4 victory over Greater Lawrence.

Going long

Josie Sanchez hit a long two-run homer in the first to propel Whittier to a 4-2 victory over North Shore.

Big 3

Gabby Salerno (3), Molly Quinn (2) and Grace Storniolo (2) combined for seven RBIs and PMA waltzed past Lynn Tech 22-10.

No Joshing

Josh Creamer had two hits, two runs and two RBIs and got the win with two strong innings of relief as Pentucket beat Manchester Essex 11-5.

Comeback Cats

Corinne Bilodeau, Taysha Diaz, Jarlyn Gomez and Anyelina Martinez combined to run away with the 4x400 relay to give Whittier a comeback win over Mystic Valley. Diaz also set a school record in 400 hurdles.

Dean’s List

Jon Bakies had 13 kills and three blocks and Alec Dean added 15 kills and 10 service points as Andover blanked Billerica.
