Baseball

North Andover Legion will hold tryouts on Saturday, May 11 at 6 p.m. at the North Andover High baseball field, for anyone interested in playing Junior or Senior Legion.

Methuen American Legion tryouts are set for Sunday, May 12 at Methuen High from 4-7 p.m. Both Senior (born 1994 and later) and Junior (born 1996 and later) Legion teams will try out together. All players are responsible for having their own wooden bats. If you haven’t registered, send name, address, school, year of graduation, and date of birth to MethuenLegion@yahoo.com.

The Haverhill High baseball program will host a free youth clinic for the Riverside-Bradford Little League on Saturday, May 11 at Trinity Stadium. The event will coincide with the league’s picture day.

Schedule: 9– 11 a.m for ages 10-13, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. for ages 6-9.

Lawrence Senior Babe Ruth tryouts for any boys ages 16-18 are Saturday, May 11 at 1 p.m. behind the new high school. Rain date is Sunday at 1 p.m. Birth certificate is required. Returning players must be present and return uniforms. The cost is $80 for those who make the team. For more information call Sy Uliano Jr. at 978-685-0232.

Haverhill High is hosting “College Athletics Night — Everything You Need To Know To Compete At The Next Level” on Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. A panel of coaches representing all NCAA levels will be on hand to discuss various aspects of competing in college sports. The event is free and open to the public.

The Owl Open to benefit Timberlane athletics will be Saturday, June 1 at Granite Fields Golf Club in Kingston. Registration is at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The $110 fee includes golf, cart. lunch, contests and awards. Sponsors are being sought for $100 per hole.
