Reigning Eagle-Tribune MVP Ally Fazio (7 goals, 2 assists) has started eight games in the midfield for the 13-4 Huskies. Twin midfielders Kate (16 appearances, 3 starts, 19 ground balls) and Anne Farnham (12 appearances) have helped the Minutemen to a 17-2 record.

Joey Lee, an assistant coach at Pinkerton for the last six years, was named the Astros’ new head hockey coach. He replaces Casey Kesslring, who went 146-73-9 with two Division 1 state titles in 10 seasons. He is now head coach at New Hampton.

We received some complaints asking why we didn’t have anything in the paper on Salem girls lacrosse’s big 22-3 win Tuesday over Nashua South. As always, it’s up to the coach to call in. By and large, our local coaches do an excellent job of it. Salem girls lacrosse players, unfortunately, frequently have received the short end of the stick over the years.
N.Y. Post columnist Mike Vaccaro, a sportswriter for the last 24 years, had this to say about the Celtics’ 20-0 run against the Knicks last week: “I swear, I have never heard sports sound as loud as it did here in TD Garden. Just amazing.”
