---- — TRENTON — Catcher Jack Murphy’s first homer of the year, a three-run shot, was all the offense the New Hampshire Fisher Cats would need in an Eastern League, 4-0, win over the Trenton Thunder in New Jersey yesterday.
Southpaw Sean Nolin worked six shutout innings in his second start of the season for the win. He allowed four hits and two walks, striking out eight.
Nolin (1-0) worked six innings, allowing four hits. He walked two and struck out eight batters. He was followed to the mound by Austin Bibens-Dirkx and Joel Carreno who combined to blank Trenton for the final three innings to complete the shutout.
The Fisher Cats have Monday off, then host the Portland Sea Dogs, tomorrow night, 6:35, at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
