N.H. Boys Soccer: Carbonello, Windham eye repeat

OUTLOOK: Windham won the Division 2 boys soccer state title last fall and the Jaguar would appear to be the best bet to make a run this year.

Londonderry won 16 games last year but only returns three starters while Pinkerton returns just two starters from an 11-win squad.

Londonderry

2012 record: 16-3, lost in Division 1 semis

Returning starters (3): Bobby Krause, Sr., goalie; Alex Walter, Jr., defense; Nate Gaw, Soph., forward

Other returners: Justin Olin, Sr., defense; Andrew Hodkinson, Sr., defense; Jeff Baroody, Jr., goalie; Andrew Mitchell, Jr., midfield

Promising newcomers: Lewis Carroll, Jr., forward; Tommy Cranmer, Jr., midfield; Cody Woods, Jr., midfield; Andrew Charrington, Jr., defense

Candidates: 60

Captains: Alex Walter, Bobby Krause

Returning goal leaders: Nate Gaw 8

Returning honorees: Nate Gaw, All-Division 1

Assistants: Kevin Brassard; Forrest Mehlhorn, JV; Dan Hufford, Freshmen

Odds and ends: Jeff Colbert, who went 32-5-1 in two seasons, stepped down citing health issues ... New coach Todd Ellis (Alvirne Class of 1988) was the former Alvirne coach.

Coach Todd Ellis (1st year): “We graduated 12 seniors — talented seniors — that helped with their run. They are very coachable . They just don’t necessarily have a lot of varsity experience at this time.”

Pinkerton

2012 record: 11-6, lost in Division 1 first round

Returning starters (2): Tim Wood, Sr., midfield; Tommy Martin, Sr., forward

Returning lettermen: Cameron Burke, Sr., midfield; Phil Lerner, Sr., midfield

Promising newcomers: Jacob Konstant, Sr., defense; Jimmy Mansour, Sr., goalie; David Parrott, Sr., forward; Zack Bell, Sr., utility; Arlo Wetherbee, Sr., midfield; Andrew Dorci, Sr., midfield; Cody Anshewitz, Jr., forward; Eric Werner, Jr., goalie; Kyle Hicks, Jr., midfield; Alex Ebner, Jr., utility; Chris Ronan, Jr., midfield; Matthew O’Brien, Jr., defense; Sean Donohue, Soph., utility; Trevor Morrison, Frosh., midfield

Candidates: 100

Captains: Tim Wood, Tommy Martin, Kyle Hicks

Returning goal leaders: Tim Wood 6

Returning honorees: none

Assistants: Steve Weare, JV; Dan Muksian, Freshman

Odds and ends: Last year was the first time the Astros didn’t make it out of the first round since 2004. ... Newcomer Kyle Hicks is a junior captain.
