LEE, N.H -- Lee USA Speedway has rescheduled the 50-lap Hobby Stock event which was scheduled for last Friday night for this Friday night, August 2.
The event is the highlight of the season for the David’s Race Cars and Components Hobby Stocks. Jim Piaseczny and Patrick Tanguay have been on top of the point standings all season. Piaseczny has three wins and Tanguay just got that elusive first win a few weeks ago. Other hobby stock winners in 2013 include Wade Worster, Paul Palen, Billy Clement, and David MacDonald.
David and Annette Joyce of David’s Race Cars and Components are long-standing sponsors of the division and many of the competing cars were built in their Derry, N.H. shop.
This Friday night will also feature 3rd Quarter Championships in all four Whelen NASCAR Weekly Racing Series divisions. Tommy Tombarello, the big winner in the 2nd Annual “Money Bags Race” heads the Benson’s Hardware Small Block Super modified standings ahead of Ryan Gath and Michael Netishen.
The last time the Prime Storage Late Model Sportsman appeared at Lee USA, Grant Aither won the Firecracker 100 for the third year in a row. He leads the division points chase. Alby Ovitt has yet to taste victory this season, but consistent podium finishes has lifted him to second while some hard luck has dropped Junior Baril to third.
Travis Hollins leads Hannah Shaw and Evan Horvath in the American Used Auto Parts Ironman division. Some of the best racing action this season has been provided by this relatively inexpensive entry level division.
Lee USA Speedway has one Ironman car on display in the midway for sale and plans to build more. Anyone interested in purchasing a turn-key Ironman car or anyone interested in getting information regarding the Ironman Division should contact the track office. A major event paying $1,000 to the winner is being planned for Oktoberfest Weekend.
