Nick Moore stroked three hits and drove in two runs while teammate Nathan Minnich had two hits, a walk and RBI as the Lowell Spinners won 7-1 over Auburn at home yesterday.
Teddy Stankiewicz, the Red Sox’ second-round pick this year, went 2.0 innings, allowing one run on three hits. He didn’t walk anybody and struck out four.
Forrestt Allday, Danny Bethea and Williams Jerez each stroked one hit for Lowell, which improved to 25-18.
Sergio Gomez pitches 6.0 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out four.
The Spinners welcome the Batavia Muckdogs, a Miami Marlins affiliate, to Lowell tonight for the first game of a three-game set. Mario Alcantara (2-3, 3.93) gets the ball for the Spinners. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
Fisher Cats fall
Jack Murphy had three hits, including a home run, but the Fisher Cats lost 4-3 in their series finale in Bowie yesterday.
Andy Burns added a two-run home run, his second in as many games, as New Hampshire (53-56) dropped two of three in Bowie to begin its six-game road trip.
Sean Nolin started for New Hampshire and retired eight in a row at one point. He hurled 5.0 innings of three-run ball. He struck out eight and walked two while taking a no-decision.
The Fisher Cats begin a three-game series in Richmond today at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Kyle Drabek will make his first start since joining the Fisher Cats on his rehab from Tommy John Surgery. He’ll be opposed by Richmond right-hander Craig Westcott (4-10, 4.28).
