Raiders throw a win
Central Catholic’s Noah Joyce (shot), D’Andre Drummond-Mayrie (discus) and Cameron Manning (javelin) swept the throws in an 81-64 win over North Andover. Joe Staudt was a double winner for the Knights while freshman pole vaulter Erick Duffy won in his varsity debut.

Jenna Smolag won the 200 and led a sweep of the 100 with Taylor Crane and Kaitlin Fotino to lead North Andover to an exciting 73-72 win over Central Catholic. The Knights’ Mary Lavery won a tight battle in a much-anticipated 400 hurdles showdown with Central’s Katie Equi, who won two other events.
Junior Kayleigh Forgetta fired a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and just one walk as Methuen blanked Everett 8-0. Kat LeFebre slugged a two-run homer and drove in four runs while Madison Adames slugged a bases-clearing double.
Bradley leads way
Ryan Bradley fired in four goals and added three assists as Methuen’s boys lacrosse team opened its season with a 10-7 victory over Revere.
Vicente serves it up
Julio Vicente had a remarkable 27 service points as Lawrence swept Andover for its second straight win. Christian Taveras had seven kills and four blocks for the Lancers (2-1).
Double winners Junior Delacruz (shot, discus) and Kelvin Flores (100, 200) lifted Lawrence to a season-opening 86-53 win over Billerica.
The White brothers, senior Kyle at No. 1 singles and sophomore twins Cam and Tyler at No. 2 doubles, led North Andover to a season-opening 5-0 win over Methuen.
