PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Dany Sabourin stopped 35 shots and notched his first shutout of the season as the Providence Bruins defeated the Lowell Devils, 3-0, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
Zach Hamill had a hand in all of Providence's goals with a goal and two assists.
Providence broke a scoreless tie at 6:25 of the first period when Craig Weller came streaking off the bench to accept a Hamill pass and fire a snapshot from the far circle that beat Jeff Frazee to the glove side.
Cliche, Meckler spark Monarchs
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Center Marc-Andre Cliche and left wing David Meckler scored two goals apiece as the Manchester Monarchs defeated the Worcester Sharks, 6-3. Manchester (19-7-1-2) extended its lead in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference with its fourth straight victory.
