North Andover's Christian Sady of the New England Revolution Under-16 team was one of six players selected to attend the U.S. Soccer Training Center that will be held on April 6 at Oakwood Soccer Park in Portland, Conn.

"We're very proud to have six players selected to participate in this U.S. Soccer Training Center," said Bryan Scales, director of youth development and U-16 head coach. "These events are great opportunities to be trained and evaluated by U.S. Soccer's national staff coaches."

The Revolution Under-18s (5-6-2) and Under-16s (5-5-3) travel to New Jersey this weekend, where they will play Players Development Academy in Zarephath on Saturday, April 2, and the New York Red Bulls in Newark on Sunday, April 3.

Opening day around the corner

The 2011 New Hampshire Fisher Cats arrive in Manchester from Spring Training in Dunedin, Florida on Monday, April 4. Opening Day at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium is Thursday, April 7, when the Fisher Cats open a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder.

Two Warriors sign

Merrimack seniors Chris Barton and Joe Cucci each inked pro hockey contracts yesterday.

Barton signed with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders and made his debut last night in a game against the Portland Pirates.

Cucci signed with the South Carolina Stingrays, the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, and could make his debut on Friday.
