Five Potential Pats' Prime Targets

The Eagle-Tribune

---- — Cordarrelle Patterson

Tennessee/6-2, 216 pounds

Smooth outside receiver. Standout in the return game. Very raw. Still learning pro-style offenses. Top half of first round potential. Might be expensive to move up and chase.

DeAndre Hopkins

Clemson/6-1, 214 pounds

NFL.com compares him to Atlanta’s Roddy White, and that’s a good thing. Explosive in separating from defenders. Hands are an issue. Can he be consistent? Is he going to be big and physical enough at the next level?

Keenan Allen

California/6-2, 206 pounds

More of a combination inside-outside guy, as opposed to a pure “X.” Pats love versatility, so he could fit into the plan. Not afraid to mix it up down the middle of the field.

Aaron Dobson

Marshall/6-3, 210 pounds

The Herd produced a pretty darn good one in Randy Moss, and Dobson is built along the same lines, albeit without the baggage. Like Moss, he’s shy about mixing it up in the middle, but he can rip it along the edge. Plenty of size and upside.

Terrance Williams

Baylor/6-2, 208 pounds

Was one dimensional at Baylor, which runs a unsophisticated version of the spread, meaning he’s a bit of a project. But he has off the charts physical skills, that a team like the Patriots, with a Tom Brady, would love to mold.
