Final Score

Drama for Lancers

Trailing by a pair of goals with two minutes to go in the third period, Londonderry pulled its goalie and with the extra attacker on the ice Cooper Roy and Jason Parker each scored to send the game into overtime. Colby Austin then added the OT winner, beating the goalie glove side with a slap shot from the blue line, to give the Lancers a 7-6 victory over St. Thomas.

Eric Coburn also had a hat trick to lead the charge for Londonderry.

Gio the man in OT

Gio Corsetto took a pass from Tyler Poole and scored 4:44 into overtime to finish off Pinkerton’s come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Nashua South. After the Astros fell behind 2-0, Poole began the rally with a goal in the second period and then Ethan Landry tied it up early in the third.

Hat trick night

Jared Potter scored three goals and added four assists as North Reading blasted Saugus 9-0.

Tourney qualifier

North Reading’s girls basketball team outscored Amesbury 20-5 in the decisive third quarter on its way to a 59-56 victory over Amesbury that qualified the Hornets (10-5) for the tournament.

Lopez wins it

With Lawrence trailing by two points heading into the final match, Lancers’ heavyweight Alex Lopez recorded a pin in the third period to provide a 39-35 victory over a tough Chelmsford club. That kept Lawrence (14-7 overall) unbeaten in the Merrimack Valley Conference. Andy Delacruz had a pivotal 11-8 decision at 195.

Title for Prep

St. John’s Prep won its 16th straight league wrestling title with a 67-12 win over Malden Catholic. The Prep has now won 68 straight Catholic Conference meets.

Andover sets record

Led by a season-best 37.2 in the all-around by Courtney Carver, Andover set a new school record for points in a meet with 145.05 to beat North Andover (141.75) and Westford (140.85).
