The 14U Bay State Brats are looking for a pitcher and a versatile infielder. Winter practices will begin Jan. 6. Interested candidates can contact Bo Durso at baystatebrats@aol.com or visit eteamz/baystatebrats.

The Northeast Hurricanes 10U and 12U softball teams each have two final roster spots available. If you are interested, contact deb@nehurricanes.net.

Fund Raising

The Methuen High swimming team is hosting a fundraiser at Joe’s Crab Shack at 105 Pleasant Valley St. in Methuen for Allie Hawkes on Oct. 17. Hawkes is a 2012 Methuen graduate, swim team captain, and Relay for Life chairperson. She is a multiple time cancer survivor, but she is up against another cancer battle. The hours are from 11 a.m. until closing with 20 percent of all proceeds going to the Allie Hawkes fund.

FOOTBALL

Timberlane High is celebrating Homecoming and senior night for the football, cheer, and band programs on Oct. 26. Festivities start at 6:30 p.m. at the football field. Timberlane football is looking for football alumni to line the field for the current players. Alumni should meet down by the field by 6:30 p.m. Fans and alumni are also requested to bring a non-perishable item for a food drive to benefit the Holy Angels food pantry.
