Jozokos too much for Brooks

Brooks had no answer for Tate Jozokos, the son of Methuen great Matt Jozokos, who rushed for two touchdowns and passed for over 100 yards as Governor’s Academy bested the Green and White 40-6 yesterday.

Jozokos, who committed to play lacrosse at North Carolina as a sophomore, opened the scoring with a 2-yard run and added his squad’s final points on a 1-yard plunge. The quarterback ended up with 105 yards passing and 56 rushing. That all while avoiding the pressure of defensive lineman Will Collins (5 unassisted tackles).

Brooks cracked the scoreboard in the fourth, when Coy Candelario scored a 10-yard touchdown run. He finished the day with a team-high 75 ground yards.

“It wasn’t our best performance,” said Brooks coach Alex Konovalchik. “But we have two games left, and I feel like they are both winnable games.”
