The Central Catholic freshman girls lost to undefeated Billerica 35-28.

The Andover Knights of Columbus is holding a free throw contest on Jan. 19 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 10 Brook St. in Andvoer for boys and girls ages 10-14. Ages 10-11 shoot from 12 feet and others from the free throw line. There is no charge. For more information contact Ron Amidon at 617-335-1662.

SoftBALL

UMass Lowell will hold pitching clinics Wednesdays from Feb. 6 through Feb. 27 from 7-8 p.m. for players in grades 5-12. Each pitcher must bring a catcher (a catcher can be provided for an additional $30). Cost of the clinic is $125 per pitcher.
