Beat Burt winners announced

The 2012 “I Beat Burt” contest ended the way it began, with Eagle-Tribune executive sports editor Bill Burt being red hot.

In Weeks 16 and 17, the last two of the regular season, Burt finished 12-4 and 13-3 respectively.

Over those two weeks, there were 28 entries that beat Burt in Week 16 and only 19 beat Burt in Week 17.

In Week 16, all of the winners were with 11 points of the Patriots point total (23). Mark Balfour of North Andover correctly picked all 16 winners, the first time that happened in two months.

In Week 17, all of the winners were within three points of the Patriots point total (28) and while the second (most wins) and third tiebreaker (random draw) were used. Four of the winners missed only one game.
