---- — Merrimack women’s basketball lost its sixth straight as No. 14 Stonehill pulled away late in the second half to win 67-55 last night.
Merrimack (11-10 overall, 7-10 in NE-10) has five games remaining in the regular season and heads to last-place Saint Anselm on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
Just two Warriors finished in double figures. Shelby Secor led visiting Merrimack with 11 points. Chloe Rothman netted 10, including hitting two of her team’s eight 3-pointers.
Kelly Schatzlein led Merrimack with five rebounds and two blocks. Tia Scott chipped in eight points and a team-high three steals.
The Skyhawks committed 22 turnovers compared to Merrimack’s 16 but Stonehill owned an 18-15 edge in points off turnovers.
Merrimack was behind just 45-39 with 9:58 to go. But then Jamie Panton hit a 3-pointer before the home side saw its edge grow to double-digits with 4:56 left.
