North Andover's Jenn Pino open the scoring with an early second-half goal but the Merrimack College women's soccer team had to settle for a 2-2 tie with Molloy, in second-day action of the Dowling Kickoff Classic. The Warriors (0-1-1) held a 2-0 lead before the Lions stormed back with two goals in the final 20 minutes of regulation. The decision could not be settled with two overtime sessions. Kiley Horne made five saves to secure the shutout.
Merrimack hosts Adelphi on Friday (7 p.m.) in its Northeast-10 opener.
Field Hockey team falls to C.W. Post
April Daugherty scored twice for Merrimack College but C.W.Post scored two unanswered goals in the final 12 minutes and handed the Warriors a 5-3 loss, yesterday at Warrior Field.
Jen Otis had the other Merrimack goal and keeper Kerri Bergquist made 16 saves in the loss.
Merrimack (0-2) travels to Franklin Pierce on Wednesday (6 p.m.).
