Bruins 3, RaNGERS 1

Play of the Game: While Tuukka Rask didn’t have to play a great game last night, he made the save of the game, with captain Ryan Callahan breaking in alone with 11:22 left in the game and the Rangers trailing, 2-1. Callahan faked to the right before going hard to his left and attempting to back-hand it. But Rask knocked the puck away with his blocker.

“Our goalie coach told me after, I think it was Game 1 when he scored on that breakaway, that he never goes backhand. So I was banking on him shooting and keeping it on the forehand. But he went backhand, and I just extended my leg and blocker there and made the save,” said Rask.

Star of the Game: Hard to pick here. But Gregory Campbell’s two goals, including empty-netter were both gritty goals with him outworking a defender.

Star of the Game II: How can you not have rookie defenseman Torey Krug on the list. Not only did he score another goal -- four off the greatest goalie in the world in five games -- but he was rock solid at the other end of the ice. He has also added a nice touch on the power play with his ability to move the puck.

Streaking: The Bruins have quietly sold out 160 straight regular season and playoff games since Dec. 2, 2009 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Stat of the Game: The Bruins balance showed in this series and last night with 10 different players having at least two points in a game. Amazing.

You Don’t Say: On Boston’s rookie defensemen and how everyone in Boston worried about that, Rangers coach John Tortorella said, “Yeah, they played real well. It’s funny how it works, huh? You get worried about this, that, and the other thing, and especially the kid there, [Torey] Krug, they got a lot of offense from their back end. That was another difference in our series, getting offense from the back end, and he led the way. It’s funny how it works, as guys come into lineups.”

Scorers: For the Bruins, Krug and Campbell (2); For the Rangers, Dan Giardi.

Assists: For the Bruins, Tyler Seguin, Brad Marchand, Shawn Thornton, Daniel Paille and Nathan Horton; For the Rangers, Zuccarello and Brian Boyle.
