He now works in admissions at Brooks. His father, Mike, is an assistant at UConn. ... Brooks has won just one of its last 25 games. ... Former coach Alex Konovalchik, who went 11-30 in five years, remains as the wrestling coach. ... Tommy Connelly, a two-way returning starter on the line, will sit out the season to focus on lacrosse, where he is commited to play at Boston University. ... Tough break for Brooks as junior returner Andrew Hulshult tore his ACL and will miss the upcoming season.

Coach Leon Modeste (27th year, 129-76-3): “We’re going to compete this year, and that’s a great thing for some of those four-year kids who have taken their lumps, At the quarterback spot, Thomas Lane has the big arm and Ian Maag can really run. We’ll play that situationally.”

OVERVIEW: Both Brooks, under new coach Pat Foley, and Phillips Academy, with a dangerous cadre of post-graduates infusing the lineup, expect to improve off tough seasons.
