Brooks girls sharp in tourney

Brooks knocked off Choate in the first round of the NEPSAC class A girls soccer tournament, 2-0.

No. 2 Brooks was ready to play.

Sarah Bresette headed in a beautiful Abby Hammerl corner kick to put Brooks up 1-0. Less than ten minutes later, Sydney Brackett would secure the win with a goal of her own off of a great pass from Isabella Papapetros.

Olivia Papapetros did a stellar job of marking Choate’s star player, Caitlin Farrell. Brooks’ back line, midfield, and goalkeeping were tremendous today and kept Choate’s attack to only 6 shots. Amelia Hulshult recorded 5 saves on the day.

Brooks sees action Saturday against either Hotchkiss or Westminster in the semi-final round of the tournament.
