Waldie lifts Merrimack field hockey

---- — Jessica Waldie scored two goals and Courtney Otis contributed a goal and two assists as Merrimack field hockey blanked St. Anselm 5-0. Madison Davis turned aside six shots for the shutout. The Warriors improved to 9-4 and 5-1 in the NE-10.

Bentley volleyball rallied to beat upset-minded Merrimack 20-25, 20-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-12. Stephanie Sheehan led the Warriors with 24 kills and eight blocks, while Jocelyn McLain contributed 13 kills and Corrine Gosselin of Lawrence had nine kills.

The Warriors fell to 7-10 while Bentley improved to 11-6.

Fifth-year senior quarterback Joe Clancy was named NE-10 Player of the Week for the third time this season.

In a 48-41 loss to 26th-ranked New Haven, he broke his own league record with 51 completions. He was 51 of 71 for 538 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. The ex-Newburyport High star leads the country in total offense at 402.8 yards per game and passing TDs with 28 for the 3-3 Warriors.
