Perry, Andover stun Central at Hoops for Hope

---- — Central’s Tyler Nelson was on his game, tossing in 21 points, but the new shooter on the corner did him one better at Hoops for Hope last night.

Andover freshman E.J. Perry paced all scorers with 22, leading the Warriors past Central Catholic, 62-45 in boys varsity action.

Hanging tough

Methuen faced its toughest challenge this summer season on Monday night against 22-1 North Attleboro at the state junior legion tournament.

Methuen bolted to a 10-5 lead and hung on to an 11-9 decision. Josh Martinez homered. Jake McAdam added a three-run double. Mike Tulley, Pat Menihane and Mark Sicard pitched in the win, to keep Methuen in the winners’ bracket.
