The Fisher Cats (79-60) trailed 3-1 but cut it to 3-2 on doubles by David Cooper and Adam Loewen in the fifth.
The Sea Dogs scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning without the benefit of a hit and scored the game-winner on Anthony Rizzo's lead-off homer in the sixth.
The two teams play again today at 12:45 p.m.
Spinners limping home
FISHKILL, N.Y. — Hudson Valley shortstop Diogenes Luis broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning with a bases-clearing double, driving the Renegades to a 6-2 victory over the Lowell Spinners.
Lowell (24-49) relied once again on the fast feet of Felix Sanchez to score the first run of the game in the first inning, as Sanchez slapped a Texas Leaguer into left field, promptly stole second, moved to third on a fly ball by Josue Peley and scored as Bryce Brentz reached on a throwing error.
The Renegades broke open a tight game with five runs in the fifth, all against Tyler Lavigne (1-3, 7.33).
The Spinners close the book on a disappointing summer today at 6 p.m. against Hudson Valley.
